A Message from the Principal
Welcome to Evandale Primary School. Our school has the best of both worlds by being situated only 17 km from the City of Launceston, yet set in the beautiful, rural Georgian village of Evandale in the Northern Midlands of Tasmania surrounded by farmland beside the South Esk River. The present school was built in Barclay Street in 1955 with classroom and facility updates throughout 2010 and 2011. Evandale Primary has a consistent enrolment of approximately 185 students from Kindergarten to Grade 6, comprising of 8 classes as well as an early learning “Gumnuts” Program operating every Friday morning for children aged from birth to 4 years of age. We strongly believe that our school is “small enough to care and large enough to be high achievers”.
Our school prides itself on the caring family atmosphere that has been created through strong community partnerships, a positive behaviour support program, personalised learning programs and positive relationships developed with students, parents and community members. Students are challenged in a friendly, enjoyable and supportive learning environment and encouraged to always try their best in all fields of endeavour. All students are respected and valued.
Our parents are very supportive, value education, and have high expectations of teaching and learning practices, educational programs and the achievement of student outcomes. Parents and carers are active and valued partners in their child’s education. Students enjoy and actively participate in a broad, stimulating and challenging curriculum. Our professional, experienced and enthusiastic staff work collaboratively to deliver an intensive educational program that caters for the needs of all individuals. We are committed to achieving positive outcomes for each and every student in our care.
Our school motto epitomises our overarching aim of;
“Working together to be our best”.
