Happy New Year!
We hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and a restful holiday break. We’re excited to welcome you back to the 2025 school year.
Over the holidays, there’s been a lot happening at Evandale Primary School — refreshing, spring cleaning and some repairs! While we did experience some rain damage in mid-January, which effected several offices, we’re happy to report that the damage to classrooms was minimal and has been repaired.
The school is looking fantastic, and we extend a huge thank you to our SBM Brooke, EFA’s Katrina, Wendy, and Andrew for all their hard work over the past three weeks. Our classroom teachers have also been working hard to create inspiring learning spaces, along with engaging in professional learning together this week.
We are delighted to welcome several new students and families to our school community. We look forward to getting to know you better. I’m also pleased to introduce a few new faces to our staff team:
- Miss Mackenzie Dunn will be joining Mrs Tarin Kemp team teaching on the 3-4-5 class on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, while Mrs. Harlow continues on leave.
- Mrs. Halimah Partridge will be teaching Visual Arts to all classes and leading specialist art classes every Tuesday. Mrs. Partridge is a highly experienced teacher with a passion for the arts, and we’re excited to see how she’ll inspire creativity in our students.
- Mrs. Loretta Kenny will be taking library lessons on Tuesdays, supported by our wonderful library technician Mrs. Jan Stanton.
- Mrs Cherie Smith will be supporting as a Teacher Assistant in classrooms across the school on Mondays.
A big welcome to all our new school community members.
Little Learners Update
We have some exciting news for our LiL students and families! Beginning this term, LiL students and their families are invited to visit our library on Tuesdays between 8:30-9:15am to listen to a story and borrow a library book while accompanying their siblings to school.
Our official Gumnuts groups will begin in Week 7, every Monday from 9:30-11:00am with Ms Rachelle Smith.
Student Assistance Scheme (STAS)
The Student Assistance Scheme provides financial assistance to help families cover the cost of school levies. The scheme supports low-income families with students enrolled from Kindergarten to Year 12.
If you meet the income test criteria, full levies and student stationery will be covered by STAS. If you have already been approved for STAS, you do not need to reapply for the following year.
Please contact the school office if you would like to discuss your eligibility.
School Levies
Parents contribute towards the cost of essential items and services that support normal educational instruction by paying an annual all-inclusive levy for their child. You will soon receive an invoice for school levies in the post.
Once parents have paid the levy, the school will not request any additional payments for essential items or services needed during the school year. Families supported through the Student Assistance Scheme (STAS) do not need to pay levies.
The levies for 2025 are:
- Kindergarten: $200.00
- Prep – Grade 2: $260.00
- Grade 3 – 5: $300.00
- Grade 6: $280.00
